Father Engagement

Location: Hamilton, Hancock, Hendricks, Marion & Madison County

​

Seeds of Life Home Base Services, LLC is seeking caseworkers to work one-to-one with fathers whose child(ren)are involved with Department of Child Services, to successfully engage fathers in services that will improve safety, stability, well-being, and permanency for their children. Caseworkers will assist fathers in strengthening the relationship with their children and promoting positive relationships between the families, the local DCS Family Case Managers, and others involved in their children’s care. Seeds of Life is also seeking individuals to facilitate weekly Father Engagement support groups. 

 

Qualification Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, or related human service field.

• Previous experience preferred

• Bilingual applicants preferred

• Group Facilitation skills preferred

• Valid Driver’s License & in good standing.

• Reliable transportation & auto insurance that complies with state law

• Successful clearance of local, state, and national background checks.

• Ability to work some evenings 

 

In addition to the above:

• Knowledge of family of origin/intergenerational issues

• Knowledge of child abuse/neglect

• Knowledge of child and adult development 

• Belief in the family preservation philosophy

 

Key Responsibilities

Assess Fathers Involvement with child/children & co-parenting skills

Assist Fathers with the following:

• Establishment of Paternity

• Visitation

• Role in Caretaking

• Appropriate Discipline

• Involvement in Childs Education

• Communication with the Birth Mother

• Employment & Vocational Skills

• Child Support

• Involvement in Case Planning 

• Parenting & Fathering Skills
